Robert (Bob) Hein joined the Miles LeHane Companies in 2008 as an Executive Coach/ Consultant after retiring from a career in Corporate Finance. His assignments with the Miles LeHane Companies capture much of his business experience as he performs career transition consulting and coaching in business leadership.
Most recently, he was a senior Executive with Airbus North America and served in positions of Treasurer, Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (the first American CFO). During his tenure with Airbus (1985 ‘ 2007) he was involved in numerous significant activities, among them being part of the management team that engineered and implemented the relocation of the U.S. corporate office from New York City to Herndon, Virginia. As Airbus was a new corporate entity in the Virginia area, Bob served as the liaison to the local business community and agencies to insure a smooth transition into the area.
Bob’s career began in 1973 as a Staff Auditor with Arthur Andersen, one of the ‘Big-8′ accounting firms. From there he moved on to Gabriel Industries, Inc. (1977) in their Accounting department as Tax Manager, and in 1981 joined Executine,Inc. as Corporate Controller with responsibility for all accounting, finance and tax functions. Airbus was the next career move for Bob.
Bob earned his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, in 2000. He had received his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting/Finance in 1973 from Baruch College, City University of New York. His CPA was received in 1976. An early interest prior to his discovery of finance was in electrical technology, for which he earned an Associate in Applied Science degree from New York City Community College.
At Airbus North America Bob further reinforced his career by establishing community relations and corporate giving programs. He participated in numerous community activities including serving 16 consecutive years on the Board of Directors of the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce and currently serves as a member of the Board of Advisors of Shenandoah University’s Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business. Bob also serves as the Senior Executive Counselor at the Byrd School, a volunteer position, where he mentors business students and teaches business courses.
