Dr.
David C. Miles, SPHR, CMF.
Chairman
Prior to becoming Chairman of The Miles LeHane Companies - OI Partners, Inc.,
in 1992, David completed a twenty-five year career with
Marriott Corporation (Saga). This experience afforded
him the opportunity to hold key positions with increasing
responsibilities in operational management, human resources,
financial and administration, training and development,
and sales and marketing moving him into a variety of corporate
top-level positions.
He was
responsible for many different areas including twelve
years of account operations and supervision in Saga’s
East Coast operations. After relocating to Saga’s
Corporate Headquarters in California, David assumed the
directing of human resources & training and development
for the entire Contract Services Group. He also held the
position of Director of Financial Planning and Analysis
and was directly involved with mergers and acquisitions
as well as strategic analysis and planning.
After
the acquisition of Saga in 1986 by Marriott Corporation,
he became the Vice President of Client Relations
in the Sales and Marketing Group and later, Director
of Human Resource Development and Training for North
America, in the largest of Marriott’s divisions,
in which he handled all activities for a workforce
of 130,000 people.
David received his Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality
Management from the Pennsylvania State University and
his Masters in Business Administration from the University
of Phoenix. In August of 2002, David successfully defended
his doctoral dissertation, the last requirement for the
EdD degree in Human Resource Development at the George
Washington University in Washington, DC.

With his commitment to life long learning, David has also
completed numerous developmental and organizational programs.
He has served as an Alumni Board Member of the Pennsylvania
State University; President of the Penn State Hotel and
Restaurant Society; Advisory Committee Member of the Penn
State Center for Professional Development; President of
the Pi Sigma Elder Chapter of Zeta Psi; prior Member of
San Jose State University Advisory Board and George Washington
University Advisory Board; and has been listed in the
Marquis Who's Who in the West; Who's Who in Finance, and
Who's Who in Global Business Leaders.
He is also a member of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD), and a member and past founding chapter President of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). He is a member of the Association of Career Management Consulting Firms International (AOCFI) and the International Association of Career Management Professionals (IACMP). In addition, David is a Charter Fellow of the International Board for Career Management Certification (IBCMC), which certifies competencies worldwide. Locally he has served as a board member for the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce and is an active supporter of community charitable organizations. Beginning in the Fall of 2003, David began a term as a Commissioner on the Loudoun County Virginia Economic Development Commission, becoming Chair of the Education and Workforce Development committee in 2005, and also sits on the Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board (NVWIB). Since 2004, David has been a Paul E. Wise Executive in Residence - Wise Professor at the University of Delaware. David became a member of the Business School Advisory Board for Shenandoah University, Winchester, Virginia in November 2005. In April 2006, David was inducted into Delta Epsilon Sigma National Scholastic Honorary Society.
Melanie
A. Miles VP & COO, The Miles LeHane Companies
Melanie Miles has more than thirty-five years of multi-functional experience. She has held key positions in retail and service industries in both managerial and entrepreneurial roles. She has owned, operated, and managed three thriving bakeries in Northern California.
Currently, Melanie and her husband, David, own and operate a nationally recognized career management consulting firm providing transition, coaching, and human resources development services to corporate executives. Miles LeHane is based in Leesburg, Virginia in the historic Glenfiddich House. They also have offices in Winchester, Virginia, Rockville, Maryland and Washington,
As vice president and COO, Melanie has complete responsibility for management of the business with a special focus on client relations, marketing and finance systems. She also manages complete oversight and maintenance of their historical facility. Additionally, she supervises staff and coordinates counselors.
Melanie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics from Immaculata University, Immaculata, Pennsylvania in 1969.

Scott D. Miles
President of Operations
Scott rejoined Miles LeHane in 2008 as the President of Operations. He performs a number of duties, providing direct outplacement counseling to candidates, project management for larger outplacement contracts, pursuing business development for new accounts, and managing the company’s Washington, DC office where he schedules both clients and consultants, and meets with client organizations on matters relating to upcoming reorganizations. Scott has received his certification for conducting and interpreting the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.
Scott’s experiences have positioned him well for his responsibilities. He demonstrates superior leadership and organizational skills. He is able to read people, identify potential performance qualities, and organize these people into teams that function at a high-efficiency level. Aside from organizing people and taking on leadership roles, he is organized with office details, provides exceptional time management and attention to details.
Scott received his BS degree from the Pennsylvania State University in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management. He is presently pursuing an MBA with the University of Phoenix. |
