Holiday 2009

Happy Holidays – 2009

As promised, 2009 has been an interesting and high pressure year for all as Change has reached an even higher pace.  We all hope that 2010 will give us all some reasonable levels of predictability and stability.

This is the time of year when we like to reflect on the positives and to thank each and every one for their contributions as friends, clients, participants, Miles LeHane team members and suppliers.  Without all, we would not be sending out this 18th consecutive annual Christmas letter.

Our theme for 2009 and as it appears for 2010 is ‘Evolutionary Change.’  In response to client organizations’ needs and programs, participants’ requests and suggestions, we are evolving.  2009 saw the final evolution of David taking charge of his weight/health issues. Now completed, he is moving full steam ahead. Melanie retains the catalyst for all primary activities, keeping everyone and everything coordinated. Scott Miles continues as President of Operations and drives our technology offerings to a new level. Daughter-in-law, Erin is still teaching English in the Baltimore County High Schools. She completed her National Teachers Certification and is currently ensconced in her PhD program at the University of Maryland. She is also keeping Scott on track with his MBA program. Son, Mike Miles, now resituated in New Jersey is doing very well in beverage field sales.

Some key highlights for 2009 include some new International Coaching assignments. The Business of Business is more global than ever before. In December, David travels to India as part of the People to People program to advance his understanding of ‘globality.’ Melanie and Scott along with Dave Ulrich have launched the first of two e-based services.  For an example of this new portfolio for executive candidates, go to www.careerhosting.com/davidmiles to see David’s initial portfolio. In addition, in December we will be launching an ‘Executive web Portfolio’ as a free-standing product/service designed around relationship marketing in an era of reduced travel.

On December 21, we will host our annual complimentary college career seminar for the sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, or friends of clients and neighbors who have returned home for the holidays and need some guidance on starting their career directions.

Our beloved Max (our mascot German Shepherd) continues to be a major part of our business and family life. Now in his 7th year, he remains spry and healthy and spends his days moving between our offices, supervising all staff activities.

We now send out to you our heartfelt best wishes for a joyous holiday season and wish you every success in the new year.

Cheers,

David C. Miles
