Over the last few months we have been very active in revamping our general communications approach. We have added Constant Contact as our preferred method of emailing our news and updates.

For this Spring 2011 newsletter, we are sending it both by U.S. mail as well as by email through Constant Contact. For some, you will receive this letter twice. For those receiving it in each version, this will confirm for you that you are on our email communications list. In the future we plan only on sending two printed copies of our newsletter each year while we will send all event announcements and two additional newsletters only by Constant Contact emails. If you did not receive this electronically and would like to, or you thought you were signed up for our electronic mailings and have not received the email version, please go to our website at www.mileslehane.com and click on the sign-up box for our newsletter and submit your contact information so we may add you to the list. Please check your spam filter or junk mail file also. We only send email copies if you request to be on the list. Thank you.

New Website
As we expand and refocus, it became necessary to redesign our web presence and social media presence. While in the early stages of social media presence, our new website has been active for the last couple of months. Please check it out and give us your thoughts and suggestions: www.mileslehane.com.

Our Expanded Focus

Listening to the Customer and responding in a positive way is the hallmark of a successful business. We have asked many questions and you have given us your time and thoughtful answers. With that as the background, we have made significant enhancements to our service offerings. Today Miles LeHane Companies is focused as a Strategic Management and Talent Management Consulting Firm, offering full-service, cutting edge solutions in the following areas: Strategic Management Planning, Career Transition, Coaching, Executive Search, and HR Products to organizations worldwide.

News and Events

Leadership Breakfast ‘ This event has been renamed from our E Breakfast. It seemed only appropriate to maintain the prior format, but have the Leadership Breakfast more representative of the program presentations. These events are open to all. Look for email announcements. Our last event was held in early March featuring Renee Lewis. Please save May 3 for our next Leadership Breakfast. See website for details.

Women’s Forum ‘ This forum continues to be a key event for us, drawing a wide variety of women from many different organizations, companies, and personal endeavors. The wide variety of focus has kept interest high for all participants. Our last session was held at the end of March. Wanda Alexander spoke on ‘What I do for a living does not define who I am, but how I perform in that space reflects exactly who I am.’

The Four Pillars of Employable Talent:
Recruiting for Success

Author: Dr. David C. Miles, Expected Release: Summer 2011

Over the first decade of the new millennium, we all have experienced cataclysmic events that have reshaped our daily lives and the world of work/employment. These events have dramatically changed the rule book on navigating one’s career and, in addition, the advice we give our family, friends, co-workers, and children. Based originally on my Doctoral dissertation research and additional ongoing reviews and analysis, I wrote this book to share my perspectives on the new drivers and understandings that are required to maximize your personal career approach as well as attracting the top talent for your organization.

Today we all are competing with a global workforce, shorter cycles than most individuals can remain responsive to and adapt, and an unending series of events which change the game without notice. Yet you and I either personally or within our organizations must be able to adapt and adopt to the new environment. The ‘Four Pillars of Employable Talent’ is my contribution to helping you understand the playing field so you can respond proactively.

What This Book Offers

As a result of reading ‘The Four Pillars of Employable Talent’, you will be better able to identify, recruit and retain job candidates with unique sets of skills needed to support organizational objectives. You will further be able to develop your own leadership skills and advance in your career because of your understanding of what constitutes employable talent and how to help that talent recognize its own genius and the specific contributive value it has to offer to the organization.

You will gain a thorough understanding of the concepts of Resilience, Balance, Strategic Career Planning, and Active Financial Planning. You will also have a better idea of the unique contributions, skills, predispositions, and expectations of the current workplace generations.

Finally, you will gain a broad understanding of the new employment contract between employers and today’s employable talent, how the new contract differs from the old contract, and how to meet the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities as a result of the dramatic shifts in the workplace.
