Mark
Stavish
Mark Stavish
is President and General Manager of Evergreen Partners, a unique
consulting firm that specializes in helping people and organizations
realize their unique goals. Mark is regarded as a gifted Business
and Human Resources leader, one who is strategic in developing a
business direction and yet practical in delivering the plan. He
created Evergreen Partners because he felt the need to give back
to others some of his life’s good fortune.
Mark uses the
skills he has honed over his very successful career in Corporate
America to help organizations and individuals achieving their stated
goals. His approach is straightforward: understand what is important
to his clients, define clear end-results terms, develop practical
plans to achieve these goals and, in some cases, provide the resources
needed to achieve these. He focuses his practice on people and organizations
that are dedicated to returning something back to the community
– a community dividend – he sees these opportunities
as “Evergreen Partnerships” because they renew and produce
additional resources to be reinvested.
Prior to creating
Evergreen Partners, Mr. Stavish served as America Online’s
(AOL) Executive Vice President of Human Resources from February
1995 through December 2002. Mr. Stavish was responsible for ensuring
AOL’s Human Resource, Facilities and Security Operations supported
the Company’s business strategy and direction. During his
tenure, AOL accomplished stunning business growth: Revenue growth
from $100 Million to $9 Billion; Member Growth from 1.5 Million
to 35 Million; and Employee Growth from 700 Employees in two locations
to 18,000 Employees in 146 locations in 40 different counties.
Mark demonstrated the vision and imagination to build a truly world-class
organization that embraced change and innovation. Yet Mark operated
with a simple and very clear mission: 1) Keep the work environment
simple and easy for employees to navigate and 2) build the people
capability by hiring and retaining the best and connecting people
to the business plan.
The AOL business
results achieved during Mark’s tenure speak volumes for his
skills as a business leader and HR professional. Yet Mark remains
most proud that AOL was recognized as an Employer of Choice –
Top 100 Places to Work – by both Fortune and Working Mothers
magazines, two very different and diverse publications.
Prior to moving
to AOL, Mark spent over 8 years honing his HR skills at Pepsi-Cola
being responsible for human resource activities in several of Pepsi’s
regional and headquarters business units. Through several HR generalist
and labor relations specialist positions, he led key strategic efforts
that enabled Pepsi to redesign its culture, organization structure,
and compensation and career development systems.
Mark began his
career with 9 years at Mobil Oil in a variety of HR roles, most
notably in career development and recruiting, skills which became
crucial in more recent assignments.
Mark earned
both his Bachelor of Science degree (psychology) and his Master
of Science degree (Industrial Relations) from Iowa State University.
Mark’s family is his primary focus. He is married and has
three children. All three children are excellent students and accomplished
athletes who have participated in varsity-level athletics and both
the high school and college level. Mark is the past Chairman of
the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce and a very active Board Member
on the Loudoun Community Hospital.
Mark is very
satisfied with what he has been able to accomplish in both his personal
and professional lives. He had big goals in years past and now is
at a point on his life’s journey when he can help others achieve
their goals.
