Chester
M. Slaughter
Chester
began his coaching for Miles LeHane in 2001 and brings over 25 years
of experience and expertise in employee relations, strategic and
business issues, conflict resolution, coaching and counseling and
relationship building. In 2002, he earned his certification for
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).
During a long
and productive career with Marriott International, Chester was Vice
President, Employee Relations where he directed the HR strategy
and operations in support of the growth and development of Marriott
Distribution Services. During this period, the division grew from
$450 million in sales to $1.3 billion, from 3 distribution centers
to 13, with an employee base of 1300 people.
With this growth,
he was responsible for the recruiting, staffing, training, compensation,
succession planning, organizational development and all benefit
plans. Chester also administered the internal complaint resolution/problem
solving process to ensure a positive employee relations environment
and to maintain compliance with company policies and practices.
In conjunction with that, he coached executives, managers and supervisors
on sensitive employee relations issues, including career management,
change management, affirmative action/discrimination and regulatory/compliance
issues.
Earlier in his
Marriott career, Chester developed and implemented employee relations
policies and resolved issues such as disciplinary processes, AA/EEO,
internal investigations, wrongful terminations, complaint resolution,
AIDS in the workplace and other hot issues of that time.
Chester earned
his BS degree in Business Administration/Psychology from the University
of Pittsburgh. He received Management Assessment Training at Development
Dimension International (DDI).
