Jim
O’Brien
Mr.
O’Brien is a Human Resource Professional with
over thirty-five years of experience delivering service.
He has functioned as a general practitioner, organization
development specialist, and staffing specialist for such
organizations as GTE Sylvania, GTE Telenet, Sprint, Fannie
Mae and Teligent, which span the manufacturing, telecommunications
and financial industries, holding such titles as Human
Resource Manager, Division Industrial Relations Manager,
Director of Staffing and Director of Organization Development.
In
each of his roles, Jim has functioned as a coach for
the organization. Using skills based on experience
coupled with his “Certificate in Leadership Coaching,” Jim
approaches coaching from a unique perspective. From the
use of the ALIFE model for intake, which focuses on Authenticity,
Leadership, Intentionality, Fear/Courage and Execution
through the use of self observation exercises on the part
of the client, Jim’s focus is on seeing the client
achieve. Specifically, Jim helps the individual to look
at situations, organizations and issues differently and
to examine the impact. The term “moving outside the
box” is a way to describe how Jim works with his
clients.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
from Merrimack College, and a Master of Arts in Industrial
Relations from Wayne State University and Graduate Certificates
in Organization Development and Leadership Coaching from
Georgetown University.
